History of the Europe Region

We started as the Europe Middle East (EME) Region in 1971 when TF Tenney was the General Director of Foreign Missions. The regional structuring program began with appointing Regional Field Supervisors (RFS) from the Foreign Missions Board. Hulon Myers, a board member, was the first RFS for EME. The Myers moved to Germany and lived in the region for a few years. Harry Scism followed Myers until Robert McFarland, Sr., the General Secretary of the UPCI, served as the Regional Field Supervisor for the EME Region from 1982 to 1990. Robert and Evangeline Rodenbush then served as RD for 20 years, from 1990 to 2010, and then Michael and Dianna became RD in 2010 after serving in Germany and The Netherlands.

The idea of the EME region becoming two regions was introduced to the Global Missions Board by Brother Tuttle after a survey among the appointed missionaries in 2018 and 2019. After study, prayer, committee work, and careful consideration, the EME Region became two regions: Europe and Eurasia North Africa, at the General Conference 2021 in Indianapolis. Nathan & Tanya, former missionaries to Spain, took over the leadership of the new Europe region after the Tuttles retired in 2023. With the great vision of our Regional Director, we are poised for explosive growth over the next few years.

Our Sub-Regions

The Europe region comprises three subregions which are subdivided into areas.
